Since 1999, Adopt a Needy Family has been honored to walk alongside thousands of families in San Antonio and Bexar County, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope during life’s most difficult seasons.
Schools such as Mount Sacred Heart and St. George Episcopal, along with local businesses and compassionate individuals, have joined us in this mission. By adopting families or providing financial support, they extend a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable households in our community’s underserved neighborhoods. Together, we are building a stronger, more caring San Antonio—one family at a time.
With the generous support of our community, Adopt a Needy Family has provided more than $5 million in cash and gifts directly to families most in need.
With the generous hearts of the community, we have been helping the most needy in Bexar County and the surrounding area for over 24 years .
Each year we help over 1000 children and their parents with their overall needs to ensure they can celebrate the holiday season with dignity.
There Are Families In Need… Will You Help?
The families served by Adopt A Needy Family are in need of the most basic necessities, such as bedding, detergent, hygiene products and clothing. Since the program takes part during Christmas, volunteers buy toys for the children and gifts for parents since they would not be able to afford them.
What is unique about Adopt A Needy Family, is that this program assists the entire family.
Not every family feels comfortable listing all of their needs on a wish list. That’s why we encourage donors to pause and reflect: If I were in their shoes, what would my family truly need?
